Happy Hour at XTC Gelato!

Summer’s finally here and XTC Gelato recently teamed up with Pernord Ricard to host a special happy hour promotion for the members of Foodie Magazine. Specially made artisanal gelato was on offer, including cocktail cones filled with red wine gelato – yes you did read that right! The fantastic St Hugo wine supplied by Pernod Ricard was transformed into the exciting new flavour by our gelato experts at the XTC lab.

It was the talk of the night with the Foodie Clubbers describing the first lick as having a kick of red wine flavour but a mellow after-taste that went down a treat, even for the non-red wine drinkers.

Other treats included XTC’s lovely Bombé Alaska cake – soft meringue over chocolate and vanilla ice cream on a light sponge base, and some devilishly good vodka sorbet shots. Pretty much like an ‘affogato’, the lime sorbet scoops were drowned in a shot of vodka that everyone enjoyed.

Celebrating a 10,000Km cycle ride

Cycling through 7 countries from Istanbul in Turkey, via Iran and finally through N.W. China to Macau and Hong Kong, these two XTC Gelato fans finished their epic journey on Saturday 3 May at the Hong Kong Country Club. Alex Middleton and James Frome, both born in Hong Kong, cycled over 10,000 km through the winter months where temperatures reached as low as -40°C.

The XTC Gelato team would like to congratulate the pair for their efforts and courage, and for raising money for the wonderful Sarah Greene Breakthrough Tribute Fund – a medical research unit for triple negative breast cancer. The pair celebrated their arrival in Hong Kong with a well deserved scoop of their faviourite XTC Gelato flavours!
